Who We Are

Helping Our People.Org (HOPO) is a non-profit organization that brings Food Pantries from neighboring areas together to help and support each other.

We provide a way for local pantries to share resources, discuss common issues and best practices .

Through HOPO, pantries can present a united  voice in the community to represent the people they serve.

To continue this program and reach out to more pantries, we need your help.  Please consider sponsoring a pantry or making a donation.

FROM IDEA TO REALITY: THE EVOLUTION OF HELPING OUR PEOPLE

In 2012, at the first get-together of local food pantry directors, after a few minutes of discussing the software, the conversation shifted to sharing the day-to-day issues that are common to running a food pantry.  The idea of forming a 501(c)(3) to provide a forum for pantries was born.

We started out as a support group for the Food Pantry System that was originally developed for the Community Food Pantry of Murrieta, California.

THE HOPO FOOD PANTRY SYSTEM

Would you like to increase the number of families your food pantry can serve?

In today’s economy, more and more families are seeking assistance from organizations like yours. To increase the number of families you can help will require more funding and more efficiency to expand your operations.  Here’s how the Food Pantry System can assist you:

  • The system keeps track of everyone who receives food pantry items, commodities, and vitamins from your pantry.

  • The system captures all of the information needed to determine what items to distribute to each family, which streamlines the process on distribution day.

  •  The system generates the government reports that you need to qualify for funding from their programs.
